Gang Shower

Here we have a set of gang showers that had delaminating epoxy paint over a quarry tile. Other than the floor peeling epoxy the owner had issues with water from the showers running out and puddling at the entrance of the shower room. (See photo’s to the left)
After grinding off the delaminating epoxy paint we anchored 3/4″D x 1″W furring strips around the perimeter of the room to enable pitching underlayment from the perimeter walls to the drain in the center of the room. (See images below) This is achieved by screwing screws into the furring strip then periodically pulling the strings attached to the screws down to the drain as you trowel in the epoxy underlayment.

Once the underlayment is cured, we then go over the whole floor with our trowel-down epoxy flooring and install the final high gloss sealer. The result… A complete transformation of the floor that functions as it is supposed to. (see images below)
